- Lesion located either at lateral or medial joint margin.
- It can be confined to meniscus or extends beyond capsule
- It is almost always associated with meniscal tears; It may be due to trauma.
- A mesical cyst is caused by simple extrusion of synovial fluid through meniscal tear
- It usually causes pain and swelling.
