type 1 endometrial carcinoma
Definition: Relatively indolent tumors that arise in background of endometrial hyperplasia.
According to one definition, when endometrial glands show a confluent pattern occupying at least 2x2 mm focus, the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma can be made. Smaller foci are labeled "complex endometrial hyperplasia".
The diagnosis of endometrioid adenocarcinoma can also be made if there is extensive papillary pattern or infiltrative glands with desmoplastic response. (...)

soft tissue perineurioma
14 September 2005Perineuriomas are uncommon benign peripheral nerve sheath tumors that include soft tissue, sclerosing, and intraneural variants.
Perineuriomas are rare tumors of the peripheral nerve sheath that share some characteristics with meningioma.

tumor size: from 0.3 to 20 cm (mean, 4.1 cm)
anatomic distribution: lower limb, upper limb, trunk, head and neck, retroperitoneum, paratesticular

Case 115 : Chondroblastic osteosarcoma of the calcaneum
Definition : Chondroblastic osteosarcoma (OS) accounts for about 25% of all cases of OS.
Localization

temporal bone (#20730902#)
Macroscopy
Grossly, an overt chondroid appearance is rare. This is probably secondary to the cartilage component being less well-formed, high grade, and mixing with non-chondroid elements resulting in a lack of large areas of pure chondroid differentiation and its attendant (...) -
thymoma type B1
7 October 2010lymphocyte-rich thymoma
Definition: Type B1 thymoma closely resembles normal thymus cytologically and architecturally. It is usually an encapsulated mass with fibrous bands (seen here) separating it into nodules or lobules. It has areas resembling normal thymic cortex which are composed of scattered epithelial cells in a dense background of immature T-cells. Foci of medullary differentiation (seen here as lighter areas) with or without Hassall’s corpuscles are always present.

oncocytic mucoepidermoid carcinoma
4 November 2008Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is the most common salivary gland malignancy. Oncocytic MEC (OMEC) has been rarely reported with previous cases suggesting they are largely cystic low-grade neoplasms with a favorable prognosis.
The differential diagnosis of OMEC includes numerous oncocytic/"oncocytoid" neoplasms. Some are benign while others are aggressive.
Synopsis

age range : 30 to 79 years

juvenile ossifying fibroma
2 June 2010definition: Juvenile ossifying fibroma (JOF) is an uncommon fibro-osseous lesion occurring in the facial bones. It is highly aggressive and has a strong tendency to recur. It has been recognized as a separate histopathological entity among the fibro-osseous group of lesions. Surgical resection is the preferred line of treatment.
Juvenile ossifying fibroma (JOF) is a fibro-osseous lesion that occurs in the facial bones. It is also called aggressive ossifying fibroma due to its (...)
