ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of soft tissue
27 September 2005ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of soft parts; ossifying fibromyxoid tumor; OFMT. Ent. Enzinger, 1959. Nom. Enzinger, 1959.
Definition: The ossifying fibromyxoid tumor of soft parts (OFMT) is an uncommon soft tissue neoplasm of uncertain lineage.
It is now appreciated that a small but significant subset of these lesions may give rise to metastases, often in association with atypical histological features such as increased cellularity and mitotic activity.

proximal-type epithelioid sarcoma
27 September 2005Definition: Proximal-type epithelioid sarcoma is a recently described soft-tissue tumor that is distinguished from conventional-type epithelioid sarcoma by a far more aggressive clinical course, frequent location in the proximal anatomic regions, and variable rhabdoid morphology.
Because of their rarity and peculiar morphology, proximal-type epithelioid sarcomas frequently pose serious diagnostic dilemmas, being easily misdiagnosed as a variety of other malignant neoplasms.
