- Simple and complex ring shaped (annular) tubules
- nuclei arranged in an antipodal pattern
- variable amounts of hyaline material and calcifications
- Association with PJS, but SCTATs presenting as adnexal masses and with hormonal manifestations are usually sporadic.
- IHC: Inhibin, calretinin, FOXL2 positive
- hyaline material PAS-positive
- Molecular: Most PJS cases mutation in the STK11 (LKB1) gene
