unicryptal adenoma

Definition: A single crypt is present, which is lined with crowded, hyperchromatic, adenomatous epithelium.

The surrounding crypts contain non-neoplastic epithelium and demonstrate the normal pattern of differentiation.

It is frequently observed in the colon of patients with familial polyposis coli.
