High-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas and carcinoids can arise in different sites such as lung, gastrointestinal tract, prostate, and skin.

Classic neuroendocrine markers are CD56 , synaptophysin, and chromogranin .

Types

- large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNC )
- small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (SCNC )
