Diagnosis of alopecia

- primary scarring alopecia

Common forms of scarring alopecias are :
- lymphocytic (discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planopilaris, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, pseudopelade of Brocq),
- neutrophilic (folliculitis decalvans, dissecting folliculitis)
- mixed (acne keloidalis)

The non-scarring alopecias are :
- androgenic alopecia
- telogen effluvium
- alopecia areata
- trichotillomania
- traction alopecia
